In response to mitigating the spread of current Covid-19 pandemic, the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario (RCDSO) and the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario (CDHO) have recommended strongly that “all elective and non-essential dental services be suspended immediately”.
We here at Hoy Dental Centre are abiding by these recommendations because we consider the health, safety and well being of our patients, our community and our team to be of utmost priority and concern.
Currently, updates and revisions to these recommendations will be forthcoming the first week of April, 2020 and we will keep you abreast of any changes going forward.
We will be available to address ONLY essential dental emergencies for our existing patients should you need immediate attention. Please contact Dr. Hoy at his residence at (519) 651-2164 and a call will be returned to you within 24 hrs. Or call the Regional Emergency On-Call Dentist (1-888-751-9361).
Patient’s potentially seen during this period will be screened on the phone and at the appointment for:
- Upper Respiratory Tract Infection
Close contact with a recent international traveller within the last 14 days
Recent travel outside of Canada within the last 14 days themselves
Coming is close contact with a person(s) confirmed to have or potentially to have Covid-19
Should any of these symptoms be present, it is recommended that the patient see their primary care physician.
Appointments affected for this period of suspended service will be rescheduled when the RCDSO and CDHO informs us that it is safe to do so.
Thank you for your understanding during this challenging time.
Dr. Virgil Hoy
